Lolo with Elvis at the Canadian Tire store in Okotoks. It was Christmas 2004.

This is the store on Sherbrooke Street where I bought Lolo's Jay Terser!

We have had some very wintery weather here lately. Thursday and Friday brought freezing rain and there was much speculation that we were going to have another ice storm like the one three years ago. It didn't turn into any significant but did make things very icy and unpleasant for a couple of days. The weekend has been very VERY cold. The winter seems very long this year.

I have added quite a few pictures to the "Older Pictures" section of the Photo Album. There are, of course, many more in a box next to my desk and I will try to select some of the more interesting ones to scan and post in the next while. I also received from Bill Marshall a few more pictures of Norman Marshall's brothers and sisters which I will add to the "Marshall History" section. Oh, and I found yet another version of what purports to be the Marshall Family coat of arms.

If anyone has old pictures (or newer ones for that matter) of the Marshall/Seib or Sokolyk/Clark families, please email them to me and I will put them up.

I took the train to Quebec City yesterday and stayed over for a meeting today. Just got back a little while ago. The weather was quite mild and sunny and it was a pleasant trip. I posted a message on the message board about this being Superbowl Sunday - and that I may not be able to make the scheduled chat that night. I will try anyway but if not, let's do it the following week.

I had a chance to check out the Chat Room program tonight with Glenna and Kathy participating from two different locations in Calgary. I worked very well and we chatted for the best part of an hour. We are going to try again Sunday night around 10 p.m. EST. Let me know if you would like to join in - you will need a password.

Sunday. I added quite a few things to the web site this weekend and, if I say so myself, it is looking pretty good. Still a few pages to patch up a bit but, overall, pretty much complete...for the moment. Any and all comments are welcome - particularly if there are any broken links or things not working as they should. Some of the pages may take a minute to load so please be patient.

Back to work in the morning and it will be a busy week. I have to be in Quebec City on Wednesday and Thursday for meetings and may also have to make a quick trip to Rome, NY.

Jack is feeling much better today - wresting with his sister on the floor beside the computer desk as I write this.

OK, the web site is up and running again - although not entirely complete. I still have a few pictures to add in some of the Photo Album categories and Lauren and Diane need to add some things to their respective pages. Other than that, it is pretty much finished - at least as finished as any web site ever is. Let me know what you think.

In other news...Jack has had a pretty bad sinus infection all week with all the attendant symptoms. He and I had to stay home today while Lauren and Diane went skiing. Lauren had her first ride on a chairlift today and is starting to ski on some of the bigger hills.

The new web site is coming along nicely. It is a surprisingly time-consuming exercise to get everything working right. I have a new appreciation for other sites out there.

Incidentally, if anyone is actually reading this, could you send me an email? I will probably keep updating this even if no one is reading it, but it would be nice to know if there is an audience.

I did quite a bit of work on the new and improved Marshall web site last night and I will do a bit more tonight. Lots of pictures and stuff. Some of the older pictures that I'm sure people will remember but haven't seen for awhile. Stay tuned.

Incidentally, I was doing some research on the Marshall family (in the larger sense) and found that the Marshall family motto is: "Veritas Vincit" which is Latin for "Truth Conquers". I like that.

The new site will also include some "Marshall" information: coat of arms, crest, history, connection with the name "Keith" and so on.

Monday, January 15, 2001

I am working on a revised version of the Marshall Family web site. It will have quite a few more pages than the first site and should be a little more user friendly. I hope to have it up by next Sunday...so stay tuned. The address will remain the same.

Let's see if this works. To see a picture of Lauren and Jack on Christmas morning (2000) click here.
OK, lets see if it will bold the type. How about italics.
Here are a couple of links you may want to check out.

Mohawks of Kahnawake This is the home page for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake. It is very well put together and has links to many different Kahnawake businesses and institutions.

AdCritic This is a site that you really should check out on a regular basis. It has the best and funniest TV (and some radio) commercials and more are added all the time.

This is a test to see how this web logging stuff works.
